The week ahead...

Although on the other side of the Atlantic it might seem like an eternity since your kids left home, on this side - the days have been flying by! It is hard to believe we are starting what will be our last full week of classes, as next week we will have 4 days (due to an excursion) and the following only 1 (due to preparations for the fiesta de despedida, testing and yikes, packing). Tomorrow, we have a "meet and greet" with the Mayor of León, himself a former teacher. Two of our students, Jason and Victoria, have prepared brief statements on behalf of the program and local press (both TV and print) has been invited. On Tuesday (the 4 week mark!), the students have an evening of tapas con los profesores. The rest of the week will be spent in the classroom as we enter into the final stretch and continue to work on our program for the fiesta de despedida, a bittersweet celebration for the students as they can show all they have learned and prepare to say goodbye to their host families. Saturday will bring us another optional excursion in León, check in for details!
